Why Recycle?

Landfill tax is a tax on the disposal of waste. It applies to all waste disposed of at landfills. It has been introduced to encourage waste producers to produce less waste and recover more value from waste.

The Government's 2010 Budget announced that the standard rate of landfill tax would increase by 8 each year from 1st April 2011 until at least 2014. There will also be a floor under the standard rate, so that the rate will not fall below 80.00 per tonne from 2014 to 2020. The low rate of 2.50 per tonne, introduced in April 2008, applies to those inactive or inert wastes listed in Schedule 2 of the Landfill Tax (Qualifying Material) Order 1996.

Enviro-Tek Will always look at ways to increase recycling, reduce costs of dealing with waste and minimise the amount that is sent to landfill, long term the goal is to eliminate the need for landfill. We endeavour to help our customers achieve this by analysing their waste streams and sourcing available alternatives to landfill.

We do not own or have any affiliation with landfill sites, that is why we will always look for ways of recycling waste rather than sending it to landfill. Furthermore, recycling is often a more cost efficient alternative to landfill, and in some circumstances, can even be a revenue generator. For advice on how efficient waste management procedures can benefit your business, please do not hesitate to contact Enviro-Tek.
